Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
With this in mind, in our Musical Theatre Programme includes training in the 3 elements of Musical Theatre - Dance, Singing and Acting - and helps to prepare students who are considering going on to vocational training and a career in the industry.
The programme entails a monthly 3 hour session, made up of singing, acting and dancing technique. Work is also included which brings the three elements together.
Students are taught by specialists in each subject. All of our teachers are West End and International performers and choreographers, with a wealth of experience in musical theatre. Teachers will include Rae Piper, Gail Gordon and Rodrigo A. Carter who, between them, have worked on Olivier-nominated productions, taught Oscar winners and performed on the UK's biggest stages. There will also be occasional guest tutors to deliver special workshops, also drawn from the professional industry.
