Chantry School's Foundation Associate Programme is for young dancers aged 16 and under who are looking to refine and develop their classical ballet technique. It is called "Foundation" since classical ballet is the foundation dance technique for all dance students who are serious about their art.
It is suitable for any dance student who is looking for an additional intensive classical ballet technique class each month.
The programme aims to:
* consolidate a classical ballet technique
* prepare dancers for the demands of contemporary ballet technique
* prepare dancers for possible entry into the Full Associate Programme
The Associate programmes are led by Gail Gordon - Chantry Dance Company’s Dance Director & West End choreographer - and taught by Chantry's resident or guest teachers who are some of the UK's leading dance educators.
Students are required to attend a AUDITION to join the Foundation Associate Programme. Auditions take place during a current Associate sessions. The audition is to assess whether the class is the correct level for the student, and also for them to experience the programme. We look for potential, passion and a strong sense of dedication to the art in all our students.
