ABOUT
Contemporary Ballet combines classical ballet principles with the fundamentals of contemporary dance. Neo-classical ballet also falls within this style. Examples of this style include ballets by William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Matthew Bourne and Chantry Dance. Chantry Contemporary Ballet Associates are taught to develop strong contemporary ballet technique, creative skills and improvisation, as well as learning repertoire from major 20th and 21st century contemporary ballet and neo-classical works. Students work directly with Chantry Dance's choreographers and dancers. They learn how to work collaboratively with a choreographer, which in turn helps them develop individuality and autonomy as a dancer. |
