 Classical Ballet Associates

Classical ballet is one of the most well recognised styles of dance, and many will have heard of some of the most famous classcial ballets such as 'Swan Lake' or 'The Nutcracker'.

Chantry School's 
Classical Ballet programme is suitable for dance students who is looking for additional intensive classical ballet training each month.

Each Associate session includes a technique class followed by learning choreography or repertoire from classical ballets.

There are 6 different levels designed to allow students to progress at their own pace under the expert guidance of the Chantry faculty
, developing their technical and artistic skills and deepending their understanding of Classical Ballet as an art-form.


As a general guide, please see the level descriptions below. You will be advised at the time of application which level may be best suited to your child.
Following a successful audition, students are placed in the level that is best suited to them primarily according to their experience and ability level, with age being a secondary placement factor.


Introductory

Typically age 6-9yrs

Pre-Associates

Typically age 9-11yrs

Foundation 1

Typically age 11-13yrs

Foundation 2

Typically age 11-13yrs

Foundation 3

Typically age 12-16yrs
and en pointe

Foundation 4

Typically age 12-18yrs

PROGRAMME DETAILS
  • Entry is by audition only
  • 11 monthly sessions per year (Sept-July)
  •  Each session includes a technique class followed by learning choreography or repertoire from classical ballets
  • Suitable for pre-vocational and vocational level students
  • The programme is technique focussed and studio based, although occasionally Associate students may be invited to take part in performance opportunities
  • Ages 6-18yrs divided into 6 levels

INTRODUCTORY
Dates: Fourth Sunday of each month 
Time: 10:30-11:30am
Fee: £82.50 per year

PRE-ASSOCIATE
Dates: Second Sunday of each month 
Time: 10:00-11:30am
Fee: £123.75 per year


FOUNDATION 1 & 2
Dates: Fourth Sunday of each month 
Time: 1:00-2:30pm
Fee: £123.75 per year

FOUNDATION 3 & 4
Dates: Fourth Sunday of each month 
Time: 2:45-4:15pm
Fee: £123.75 per year

All sessions take place at Dance Pointe, 5 Swinegate, Grantham, NG31 6RJ


Chantry School of Contemporary & Balletic Arts is a vocational British dance school and our standards are professional and exacting. We encourage students to commit fully to the demands of any Associate Programme they attend and present and conduct themselves accordingly.
