Chantry School's Pre-Associate Programme is especially for young dancers aged under 11, who are looking to enhance their dancing with additional, complementary training.
The programme is a stepping stone towards becoming the Foundation Associate Programme and becoming a Full Associate.
The programme aims to:
* strengthen and solidify ballet technique
* develop artistry and expressiveness
* help young dancers develop an understanding of the dance world
The Associate programmes are led by Gail Gordon - Chantry Dance Company’s Dance Director & West End choreographer - and taught by Chantry's resident or guest teachers who are some of the UK's leading dance educators.
Students are required to attend a AUDITION to join the Pre-Associate Programme. Auditions take place during a current Associate sessions. The audition is to assess whether the class is the correct level for the student, and also for them to experience the programme. We look for potential, passion and a strong sense of dedication to the art in all our students.
Date: Second Sunday (Pre-Associates I) and/or Fourth Sunday (Pre-Associates II) of each month. Students are permitted to attend Pre-Associates I and II if they wish to dance twice in the month with Chantry.
Location: Dance Pointe, 5 Swinegate, Grantham, NG31 6RJ
Sessions: 11 sessions per year from September-July
Fee: £90 per year; £180 per year if both Pre-Associates I & II are attended
Chantry School of Contemporary & Balletic Arts is a vocational British dance school and our standards are professional and exacting. We encourage students to commit fully to the demands of any Associate Programme they attend and present and conduct themselves accordingly.
